MY JOURNEY

“No matter where you are from your dreams are valid.”
~ Lupita Nyong’o

Growing up, I’d always felt out of place being the tallest girl in class who’d stand next to the boys for class photos.
Also, I remember being told that I sang like a boy by a music teacher because my natural alto voice didn’t match the soft high-pitched voices of my girl classmates.

But years later, I finally felt at home when I pursued a career in Journalism and my voice stood out as Warm, Believable, Authoritative and Believable… qualities that now attract opportunities my way.
This was made possible because of the exceptional and successful African women journalists and voice artists with altos that I watched or heard on TV and Radio as I grew up. They affirmed that there’s a place and space for my voice to exist, make a difference and help me thrive. My love for storytelling is rooted in the power of voice, women voices, and how voice representation matters, especially in today’s world.

Thanks to my work experience as a Journalist, Regional Humanitarian Communications Lead across East and Central Africa and Keynote Speaker now I get to bring the precious gems I’ve learned along the way into my work as a voice artist. In addition, I get to share my unique insights, experience and extra flavor as an African woman.

I believe these experiences have fully resourced me to deliver professional voice over work to global clients who value BIPOC inclusivity and with a need for a Female African Voice to bring their stories and campaigns to life.
